Understanding Your Score
What is a good CRS score?
A "good" score depends entirely on recent draws. Historically, scores above 480 are highly competitive for general draws. If your score is between 400 and 450, you should actively look into Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) or category-based draws (like healthcare or STEM) which often have much lower cutoffs.
How can I increase my points?
- Improve Language Scores: Jumping from CLB 8 to CLB 9 (IELTS 8,7,7,7) can boost your score by over 40 points due to skill transferability factors.
- Learn French: Strong French skills can add up to 50 additional points.
- Gain More Experience: Reaching 3+ years of foreign experience maximizes your transferability points.
- Provincial Nomination: A PNP certificate adds an automatic 600 points to your profile, guaranteeing an invitation.
